(CNS Local Life): The Cayman Islands Kids Gaelic Football Club is adding another COOL Camp to the calendar, offering a three‐day camp during the mid-term break from 24-26 October at the Camana Bay CIS football pitch. Earlier this year, the club held camps over the February midterm and Easter, with more than 60 kids attending both. The club also held camps during May and June.

For the upcoming camp, training will start with a basic warm-up for all players, followed by a quick game to get everyone familiar with catching and throwing the football, the club said in a press release.

The coaching will then move on to teaching a couple of specific techniques used in Gaelic football, followed by a chance to practise the new skills in drills. To further develop these practices, a short, fun‐orientated game for each age group will take place to challenge the players to incorporate their new skills into the team play environment, the club said. Finally, a competitive game will close the session.

As with the previous camps, the club will use the indoor facilities at CIS so will be unaffected by the weather.

No prior playing experience is necessary and the camp is open to kids aged 6 to 15, costing $80 for the first child and $40 for each additional sibling. The camp runs from 8:30am-12pm each day.

Children must be registered by Thursday, 18 October at 6pm, through the club’s website. For more information, email the club
