(CNS Local Life): The Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) is presenting the travelling Cayman Christmas Comedy Show next month in place of Gimistory, the popular international storytelling festival, which is being revamped to return in 2019/20. The comedy act will visit all five districts on Grand Cayman as well as Cayman Brac, with free performances at civic centres and community parks.

Featuring entertainer Matt Brown and award-winning performer, Rita Estevanovich – along with Lesley-ann Bernard, Eldon Chisholm and special musical guests – it will showcase various world holiday customs, while putting a spotlight on the ways Christmas has traditionally been celebrated in Cayman, a CNCF press release said.

“Christmas in Cayman is filled with so many fun and unique traditions but also some that are adopted and adapted from the other cultures represented in Cayman,” said writer and performer Brown. “We want to celebrate those customs in a memorable way using music and comedy.”

CNCF Managing Director Marcia Muttoo added, “As it moves from district to district, the Cayman Christmas Comedy Show will be reminiscent of the familiar Christmas tradition of stopping by the homes of family, friends and neighbours to share the joy of the season. In much the same way, there will be lots of laughter and stories for all to share.”

Grand Cayman tour schedule (all shows start at 7pm):

Tuesday, 11 December – East End Civic Centre
Wednesday, 12 December – North Side Civic Centre
Thursday, 13 December – Bodden Town Civic Centre
Saturday, 15 December – Sir John A. Cumber Primary School, West Bay
Sunday, 16 December – Dart Park, South Sound

What a wonderful twist in place of Gimistory this year! Love it and I am sure it will be fabulous. Rita and Matt are both stunning, as well as the other supporting performers.
