What religions are practised in Cayman?

| 09/11/2018

I am new to Cayman and I have noticed the many churches on the island. But I was wondering what other religions are represented here?

Ask Auntie, CNS Local Life, Caymanian statusAuntie’s answer: You are certainly right about the number of churches in Cayman, with more than 200 estimated to be here, representing most denominations. Non-Christian religions are few and far between, but they do have a presence on the islands. Here are some:

The Islamic Society of the Cayman Islands. For more information, call 929-1400, email isci@candw.ky, or go to their Facebook page.

Hinduism. Dr Krishna Mani (945-1565) can be contacted for details on services.

The Chabad Cayman Jewish Community. There is a community centre and a synagogue on Grand Cayman. For more information, including on services and events, call Rabbi Berel Pewzner at 516-4474 or go to their Facebook page.

Temple Beth Shalom on Cayman Brac, located at Mango Manor, offers Shabbat services and hosts community events. For more information, call Lynne and George Walton at 948-0518.

The Baha’i faith. Beverly and Dale Banks (949-3435) hold services out of their Boggy Sand Road home.

With apologies for any religion I may have omitted, if anyone is able to add to this admittedly short list, please let me know.
