(CNS Local Life): A family of runners had a strong showing at the recent Brac Breeze Fusion 5K Walk/Run. Sean-Douglas Valentine secured his third consecutive victory at the third annual race, with his sister Di’ Jhaney coming in first among females and mother Tessa notching the second overall place for women runners.

Close to 70 runners and walkers registered for the event, held Saturday, 24 November at South Side Public Beach, a press release stated.

Radio Cayman Deputy Director Paulette Conolly-Bailey congratulated the Valentine Family on their performance, and added, “Overall, it was a fantastic morning in the Brac and I was elated at the support given to the charity. It was truly a  special community event and I hope it continues to grow into an even bigger one next year. Thanks to all who made it happen.”

The event, organised by Radio Cayman and Breeze FM, launched in 2016 as an extension of the annual Grand Cayman Breeze Walk/Run held every November.  This year’s race raised funds for the Sew ‘n So Club programme, which creates home-sewn goods for the elderly.

Melanie Shambaugh of title sponsor Yello Media Group, said of the event, “We were honoured to support Breeze Fusion 5K Walk/Run on both Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac for the second year in row. Our corporate social responsibility programmes and volunteer efforts focus on events such as these that involve children and also sustainability initiatives through our Yello2Green Recycling programmes.”

The overall best finishers were:

Top male:
Sean-Douglas Valentine (age 15) – 21.30
