(CNS Local Life): The Cayman Islands has been ranked first in the Caribbean Journal’s roundup of “The 19 Best Caribbean Islands to Visit in 2019”. The destination’s sophistication, infrastructure and “unparalleled comfort and ease” were heralded as the determining factors for recognition, stated a Cayman Islands Department of Tourism press release.

At the same time, Seven Mile Beach was honoured as one of the “greatest beaches in the world”, with The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and the Kimpton Seafire Resort named two of the most luxurious hotels in the Caribbean.

The article also noted the “array of culinary options” available, with Cayman’s reputation as the “Culinary Capital of the Caribbean” a key reason epicurean enthusiasts should visit the destination in 2019.

“I am extremely pleased that the Cayman Islands is the recipient of this distinct honour. It is a testament that the future is bright for tourism in 2019,” said Minister for Tourism Moses Kirkconnell in the press release. “Local stakeholders should be proud of their contributions to our nation’s tourism product. I trust that all in the industry will continue to maintain the high standards of quality and the unparalleled Caymankind hospitality for which we are renown.”

Cayman attracted 410,984 stay-over visitors in the first eleven months of 2018, the highest number ever.

too Bad Lacovia will be replaced by the largest building in the country. All it took is a foreign person to by the votes up. Try finding a place to sit on the beach when finished .

Let’s wait till a cruise power is built and ask them this question again. Do any islands that have done the same recently feature in the top 10?
