(CNS Local Life): Laurie Peters, the High Commissioner of Canada who is stationed in Jamaica, met with top Cayman government officials during her two-day visit last week (6 and 7 February). One day one, which was her first official stop in Cayman, she met Deputy Premier Moses Kirkconnell and Attorney General Samuel Bulgin.

The following day, Peters met Governor Martyn Roper; Ministers Tara Rivers and Joseph Hew; and Lyneth Monteith, Acting Deputy Chief Officer in the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture and Lands.

She also briefly chatted with Premier Alden McLaughlin prior to departing the Government Administration Building. Peters was accompanied by Senior Trade Commissioner Richard York during her visits with ministers.

In addition, at a reception organised by the high commission, she met with Canadians on island, Peters said in a government press release.
