Expect delays in garbage pickup

| 27/03/2019

The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) advises residents of Grand Cayman to anticipate delays in residential garbage pick-up in some communities scheduled for collection today (Wednesday, 27 March 2019).

These delays are the result of a series of mechanical failures experienced by some of our trucks at the beginning of this week. Personnel from the Department of Vehicle and Equipment Services (DVES) were able to resolve the issues quickly, but, the vehicle downtime still resulted in a slight delay in collections.

Affected areas include homes from IMP to Morningside Drive, Marina Drive, Prospect Drive, Prospect Point Rd. Mangrove Ave, Mahogany Way and Patrick Island. Garbage pick-up is scheduled to commence in these areas tomorrow (Thursday, 28 March 2019).

Garbage pick-up will take place in all other communities scheduled for collection today, as well as in previously uncollected sections of West Bay and George Town.

The DEH apologises to residents in the affected areas and urges those residents who continue to experience non-collection of their garbage to make contact with our office by calling 949-6696 or by emailing us at dehcustomerservice@gov.ky
