(CNS Local Life): The RCIPS recently hosted an Introduction to Digital Evidence Collection Certification Course. Held during the week of the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) conference, the five-day training course, which began 20 May, attracted officers from departments including Customs and Border Control (CBC), HM Cayman Islands Prison Service, Aviation Communication Limited and various units within the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

The course was integrated into the mandate of the ACCP, which was to improve policing capabilities across the region, an RCIPS press release said, adding the inclusion of other entities working with the police demonstrated the importance of collaboration and inter-agency cooperation.

CBC officer Eric Jackson achieved the highest score in the course. Deputy Commissioner of Police Kurt Walton gave closing remarks and presented certificates to the 16 participants who completed the accredited training, also reminding everyone of the importance of digital evidence in all aspects of investigations, the RCIPS said.
