Update on voter registration and referendum verification

The deadline for voter registration for the 1 October 2019 Official Register of Electors has been extended until 8 pm on Tuesday, 2 July 2019, to accommodate the public holiday on 1 July. 

Persons seeking to register as electors may do so at the Elections Office in Grand Cayman. Persons seeking to register in Cayman Brac and Little Cayman may contact Registering Officer Mrs Ellen Lazzari at tel. 948-1707.

Details on voter registration requirements can be found on the Elections Office Website at www.elections.ky.

From Monday, 24 June, the Elections Office will extend its office hours to allow persons to come in to verify their signature on the Cruise Port Referendum petition. Office hours will run from 8.30 a.m. to 6.30p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. For the next two Saturdays (22 and 27 June), the Elections Office will also open between the hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Smith Road Centre for verification and registration purposes.

Persons who have signed the cruise port referendum and will be traveling between now and early August are urged to come into the Elections Office in order to have their signatures verified.  Persons in Grand Cayman may call 949-8047 for more information and persons in Cayman Brac and Little Cayman may contact Registering Officer Ellen Lazzari at 948-1707.

Dates for in-person district verifications will be announced next week.
