(CNS Local Life): Cayman Academy students achieved a 94% pass rate in this year’s Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) examinations. Of the 20 students sitting the exam in 2019, 18 passed seven or more subjects. “This year I am particularly proud of the performance of our students and hardworking teachers in the area of English language and mathematics,” said Principal Dr O’Neil Duncan, reporting a pass rate of 100% and 82%, respectively.

This year’s results are a 1% increase on 2018’s performance, with a 100% pass rate among 12 of 16 subjects offered in the CXC exam, stated a press release. Cayman Academy introduced the CXC exam in 2012, and since 2014, students have recorded a sustained pass rate of 90% or higher.

“We take this opportunity to thank the parents who supported our students and the teachers whose expertise and devotion made the continuing success of our students possible,” Dr Duncan said, adding, “I congratulate the students on their success. We are confident that they will go on to making us, their parents and the community even more proud as they continue their journey.”
