Cayman scores against Barbados

(CNS): Fresh on the heels of the Cayman Islands national football team’s 2-0 victory over the US Virgin Islands on Friday, the team netted a fantastic win over much tougher opponents Barbados on Sunday night. The 3-2 victory took place in front of a home crowd at the Truman Bodden stadium in George Town. Jorrell Bellafonte scored the winning goal for Cayman in the 75th minute after Micheal Martin bagged the first goal five minutes in, and in the second half Jonah Ebanks scored the second.

Martin was also responsible for scoring both Cayman’s goals in the game against USVI and ensuring the team’s great start to the CONCACAF League as well as the team’s first international wins in nearly a decade.
