West Bayer takes local Miss World crown

Miss World Cayman Islands 2019, Jaci Patrick

(CNS Local Life): Jaci Patrick from West Bay was crowned Miss World Cayman at the Harquil theatre on Saturday night by the outgoing title holder Kelsie Woodman-Bodden. By winning the latest local beauty pageant, the 24-year-old UCCI graduate has qualified to represent the Cayman Islands at the international contest, which will take place in London in December with at least 72 women in the line up.

Patrick beat fellow West Bayer, Tatyana Salazar, who came in as first runner up, and Marlena Williams from Bodden Town, who was was second runner-up. Salazar also won Miss Congeniality, Best Smile and Best in Evening Gown. Shaquin Denay Rankine from East End and Kevie Ann Pierre from Bodden Town also took part in the pageant.

    Great scholarship program but why is this contest in place when the winners won’t get anywhere on the international level. Realistically the 1st and 2nd runner up have a better chance internationally.
