Public sector steps up to help Nepal
(CNS): The public-service sector has joined local fundraising efforts in aid of Nepal, with Deputy Governor Franz Manderson recently presenting a cheque for CI$4,690 to Cayman Islands Red Cross (CIRC) Director Jondo Obi, representing donations from civil servants, staff of statutory authorities and government companies, and members of the Legislative Assembly.
Global call to say no to tobacco
(CNS): Countries around the world will jointly observe World No Tobacco Day Sunday, 31 May. Coordinated by the World Health Organisation (WHO), this year’s focus, “Stop illicit trade of tobacco products”, is supported by Article 15 of WHO’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC).
Swimmers set to make open-water splash
(CNS): The open-water competition season continues with the 13th Annual Butterfield 800m Sea Swim set for Saturday, 30 May. Registration will take place on race day at Governor’s Beach from 3pm-3:45pm, and the race will start at 4pm.
Cayman UWC branch rolls out camp for teens
