Earl La Pierre honoured for contributions to pan
(CNS): Ground-breaking Trinidadian steel pan band, Invaders, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, recently honoured local musician Earl La Pierre for his lifetime of contributions to the development and promotion of this musical instrument, at an awards dinner in Trinidad.
Civil servants go pink for breast cancer awareness
(CNS): Civil servants made a colourful statement on Friday, 30 October, by dressing in pink to support the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens (LCTG) Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Overall, government employees donated more than $1,000 towards the programme, which provides free mammograms for local women.
