Webster given CIOC nod to cover Rio Olympics
(CNS): Young Caymanian Jade Webster, who has already reported on the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, and is in Lillehammer, Norway, for the youth winter games, has been chosen by the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee (CIOC) to cover the Rio Olympics in August.
Dready kicks in with rugby fundraiser
(CNS): Local artist Shane Aquart, known for his “Dready” character, has joined fundraising efforts to help finance the Borelli Walsh Cayman Rugby Sevens team’s trip to the Hong Kong Sevens, set for 8-10 April. Aquart, an avid rugby fan and player, has created the Cayman Rugby Sevens print, “Dready”.
Cayman Arts Festival brings international acts to local stage
(CNS): The 2016 Cayman Arts Festival (CAF), which runs from 18-26 February, will showcase world-class performers including soloists from the London Philharmonic Orchestra, American violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcairn, African drummer Mokhtar Samba and his band, and a jazz trio featuring 12-year-old Indonesian child prodigy Joey Alexander.
