CFO named for Portfolio of Legal Affairs
(CNS): After an open-recruitment process, Tiffany Ebanks has been appointed chief financial officer for the Portfolio of Legal Affairs. In announcing the appointment, Solicitor General Jacqueline Wilson said in a press release, “The Portfolio of Legal Affairs is very pleased to welcome Tiffany on board as our new CFO. We look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with her and we are confident that her excellent work will continue as a talented member of our team.”
Ebanks’ professional qualifications include both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of South Florida and University of Phoenix, respectively. She is also a certified public accountant. Before joining the public sector in 2008, she worked for KPMG both locally and in their Manchester office in the UK. Ebanks also worked for First Caribbean Bank as a senior financial analyst.
Ebanks will take up her post at the beginning of November. In the interim she has accepted a period of secondment with the Ministry of District Administration, Tourism and Transport (DAT&T), while their CFO is on extended maternity leave.
Stran Bodden, DAT&T chief officer, welcomed Ebanks to his ministry. “Mrs. Ebanks’ professional accounting designation and her wealth of knowledge and experience will make her an invaluable asset to the ministry,” he said.
Deputy Governor Franz Manderson, who heads the civil service, said of Ebanks’ appointment, “I am delighted to see another bright and talented young Caymanian join our capable team of CFOs. I commend Mrs. Ebanks for the tremendous team spirit she has demonstrated by stepping up and joining the Ministry of District Administration, Tourism and Transport which was without their CFO.”
