Riders put on show at dressage event
(CNS Local Life): The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation held its second dressage show of the season on Sunday, 29 January, at the Equestrian Centre in the morning and at Cayman Riding School in the afternoon. Sandy Hotz, a Colorado-based USEF-S and FEI 4* judge, officiated the show, which featured several notable highlights.
The event included the return of Jessica McTaggart-Giuzio and her CAC/Pan Am Games mount, Ray of Light, to the FEI Intermediate Level; the CIEF show debut of Amber McMillan who won at USEF C Test-Adults; and the score of 73.44% for Tracey Surrey on her horse, Dusty, at First Level Test 2, which was the highest score of the day.
The junior high point winner of the day was Abbey Swartz riding Blue Ridge Dream On at First Level Test 1.
The next CIEF dressage show will be the Cayman leg of the Caribbean Equestrian Association’s Caribbean Dressage Challenge, where Cayman riders will compete against their counterparts in Barbados, Bermuda, Jamaica and Trinidad. The show will take place 2 April at the Equestrian Centre on Linford Pierson Highway, starting about 7:45am, and then continue at the Cayman Riding School on Hirst Road from about 2:30pm. The public is welcome and admission is free.
