(CNS Local Life): Harneys staff and family in the Cayman Islands formed one of the teams that participated in the annual Chamber of Commerce Earth Day clean-up on Saturday, 22 April 2017, tackling rubbish on the roadsides around North Sound Estates. Olivia Shanks, organiser of the law firm’s clean-up volunteers, said of the day: “We were delighted to take part in this great event. It was the perfect way to start the weekend and every bit of garbage collected goes a long way to sustaining the beauty of Cayman.
“Taking part in this event also serves as a reminder to everyone to make a greater effort to recycle, reuse and reduce the waste we produce.”
This year’s event set a record for Chamber of Commerce Earth Day clean-ups, with an estimated 2,000 volunteers hitting beaches and roadsides on Grand Cayman.
