Young brothers donate their toys for Christmas
(CNS Local Life): With help from their mother, two brothers decided to give back this Christmas in a big way, recently donating their “toy overflow” to the NCVO, for Miss Nadine’s Pre-School and Nadine Andreas Residential Foster Home. After years of receiving Christmas gifts, Kameron Knight, 7, and his brother, Kruz, 5, had accumulated lots of colourful, noisy toys.
At first, Kameron suggested having a garage sale to make some money on all the extra toys, but then mother, Lauren Knight, spoke to the boys about donating to the NCVO.
She explained in a press release that after her many years of involvement with charitable initiatives, she wanted to ensure her two youngest sons adopted a similar mindset about the importance of philanthropy. She discussed the benefits of giving with the boys and they agreed to donate, instead of sell, their toys.
On 20 November, Kameron and Kruz delivered their lightly used toys, books, puzzles and stuffed animals, among other items, to a group of young students at Miss Nadine’s.
Pre-school principal Heather Lopez said of the donation: “The kids are going to be so excited once we get these toys set up in the classrooms. And just in time for Christmas.”
The two young philanthropists were clearly pleased as well. Kameron said he was happy to see the excitement on the students’ faces, adding, “That’s how I felt when I first got the toys. I’m glad that I can pass that excitement on to other kids.”
Brother Kruz said, “It makes me happy to see other kids happy. I hope they have a merry, merry Christmas.”
What a nice story! They are all so cute!
