Golf fundraiser scores for Humane Society
(CNS Local Life): Grant Thornton in the Cayman Islands hosted their second annual golf event last week in aid of the Cayman Islands Humane Society. On Thursday, 15 November, 72 budding golfers from around the globe came together, raising nearly $5,000 for the charity.
Laura Medley of the Humane Society thanked Grant Thornton, adding, “All funds raised from the day will go towards our spay and neuter programme and the ongoing care of the animals at the shelter. Grant Thornton is a very valued supporter of the Humane Society and we hope to continue this partnership for many years to come.”
Greg O’Driscoll, partner and head of funds for the professional-services firm, said, “We were delighted with how (the) event went. Perfect weather, and an amazing day bringing some of our closest clients, colleagues and friends together for a fun day out. A special congratulations to the Championships Golfers of the Year: James Bull, Ronan Guilfoyle, Matt Taber and Paul Kelly who played exceptionally well.”
O’Driscoll also thanked event sponsors of the event, saying, “We simply couldn’t host such a fantastic day” without their support. Acknowledging the prizes that local businesses donated, including Xboxes, golf clubs and vouchers, he said, “It enabled us to raise a huge amount of money for a very worthy cause and gave the participants a truly memorable experience.”
