Cayman adds three golds to medals tally in swimming
(CNS Local Life): Cayman’s swimmers matched their first-day medals total, taking 11 including three more gold at Sunday’s (21 April) CARIFTA Aquatics Championships taking place in Barbados. Together with the four silver and four bronze in swimming, duplicating Saturday’s haul, Cayman has 29 total medals overall, comprising synchronised swimming, open water and pool events, entering the third day of aquatics competition today, creeping up on the 41 earned at last year’s championships. Several swimmers have now earned multiple medals in the pool.
Taking gold were Harper Barrowman in the women’s 11-12 200m freestyle, Jordan Crooks in the men’s 15-17 200m freestyle and Avery Lambert in the women’s 13-14 400m individual medley. Earning silver medals were Lila Higgo in the women’s 11-12 100m backstroke, Barrowman in the women’s 11-12 400m IM, Will Sellars in the men’s 11-12 400m IM and Sabine Ellison in the women’s 15-17 400m IM.
Cayman’s third-place finishers on the second day were Raya Embury-Brown in the women’s 13-14 200m freestyle, Sullivan in the women’s 11-12 400m IM, Jake Bailey in the men’s 15-17 400m IM and the women’s 11-12 4x100m medley relay team of Higgo, Sullivan, Barrowman and Sofia Bonati.

Let’s keep working on that 50m pool – imagine what our swimmers could do if they had the added benefit of a 50m pool to train in sometimes.
Congratulations to all!
Something is seriously wrong if we can earn 41 medals, including many golds, in Carifta swimming, yet in track and field on our home turf we only get one bronze.
You know what is worse? Is that the Track and Field program is currently getting huge amounts of money from the government. Don’t forget the new track for Carifta and the thousands they spent sending the kids away every other weekend for training.
But the Swimming Association is begging for more help from government and can’t get their 50m competitive pool, but they can get this amount of medals.
Honestly, I am really tired of the level of corruption that goes on in all levels that government has to be involved with. So many sports associations are reputable and honest with their accounts and the athletic association cannot get it together to properly make a board, but they are rewarded with all this money.
Please please remove Julianna. She is proving herself useless over and over.
It used to be the Football association, now it’s the Athletic Association. Remember how well it ended for the Football association and FIFA?
LOL, they still looking for money from back in 1996
