Sailing Club fundraiser celebrates royal wedding
(CNS Local Life): The Cayman Islands Sailing Club (CISC) and National Sailing Centre has chosen a royal wedding theme for its fundraiser set for Saturday, 19 May, coinciding with the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Funds raised from “The Royal Ball” will help support the club’s mission to provide the best possible sailing experiences through initiatives such as after-school programmes, summer camps, and coaching and training for national team athletes.
The evening will include a cocktail reception, followed by a three-course dinner with a menu inspired by both British and Caribbean favourites, such as local catch ceviche and Cornish game hen. After the meal, there will be dancing to 80s-themed entertainment. Highlights from the actual royal wedding will be shown during the dinner.
“A royal wedding is always such a celebratory event across the globe that we thought it the perfect occasion to give a nod to the royal couple at our annual fundraiser,” Harry Lalli, CISC Commodore, said. “I look forward to seeing our members and supporters come out for a what is sure to be a fun evening for all.”
Denise Couch, club administrator, added, “We are so grateful to our sponsors and members for their support in helping us put on these programmes for the local community and our budding national athletes.”
Individual tickets, as well as tables of 16, for the event at the George Town Yacht Club can be purchased by emailing CISC or calling 947-7913. Individual tickets are also available online here
