TripAdvisor recognises Kittiwake for excellence
(CNS): The Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA) has again received a certificate of excellence from the TripAdvisor travel website for the Kittiwake dive site. The award celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveller reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Recipients include accommodations, eateries, and attractions located all over the world that continually deliver a quality customer experience.
Heather Leisman, the website’s vice president of industry marketing, said of the recognition, “With the certificate of excellence, TripAdvisor honours hospitality businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travellers. “This recognition helps travellers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service. TripAdvisor is proud to play this integral role in helping travellers feel more confident in their booking decisions.”
The Kittiwake, which was sunk 5 January 2011 and is celebrating its fifth anniversary, has received the certificate of excellence for the past two years. CITA manages and maintains the wreck with the money earned from licences and entry fees.
Keith Sahm, Sunset House general manager and CITA watersport director, said of the Kittiwake, “There is nothing as stimulating as you dive through the ship and think about what life was like, visiting the captain’s quarters, munitions room, mess hall, radio transmission room, propulsion room and weather centre.”
Only Kittiwake-licensed vessels, administered by CITA, can take people to visit the site. The licence year runs from July-June.
Call (949-8522) or email the CITA for a complete list of Kittiwake-licensed operators or to license a vessel
