Registration deadline looms for Off The Beaten Track
(CNS): Registration for the seventh annual Off The Beaten Track, one of Cayman’s most arduous sporting events, will be closing Friday, 19 February. Race director Anna Keating said the 50K event, set for Sunday, 21 February, will take runners through areas of untouched nature and provide a new challenge and tougher terrain for participants this year.
“The race offers spectacular views and challenges from start to finish including ocean views, marshland, dyke roads and other unchartered territory and back land,” she said.
Runners can participate on their own or as part of a relay team which includes up to six members tackling the course in 8K stages.
“The race course details have just been released and we are already getting feedback from runners that the course is more exciting than ever,” Keating said. “The route intentionally has minimal directional markings and all participants are encouraged to check out the course ahead of time to ensure they do not get lost on race day.”
Entry to the race costs US$300 for a team of up to six people and US$100 for individuals.
