Stingray uses film to benefit swimmers
(CNS): Stingray Swim Club is incorporating underwater filming into its training regime, enabling coaches and athletes to find and correct any flaws in swimmers’ strokes, which will improve their performance in the pool. The technology, donated by Cayman Islands Boat Rentals, comprises a mobile video cart, television, underwater camera and DVR.

Riding school jumps into late Christmas show
(CNS): Cayman Riding School recently celebrated Christmas in January, due to a rain-delayed holiday event. The Christmas Horse Show, held at the school, located in Savannah, featured decorated trees and a fancy dress competition in addition to riding displays.
CIASA makes a splash with weekend celebration
(CNS): The Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association (CIASA) recently recognised the achievements of the community’s young swimmers while encouraging the next group of hopefuls in the sport. As part of a weekend celebrating all things swim-related, CIASA held a clinic run by an Olympian and handed out numerous awards for the best performances of 2015.

New Miss Cayman crowned for 2016
(CNS): Monyque Brooks (24) from West Bay was crowned the new Miss Cayman Islands on Saturday at the annual beauty pageant at the Lions Centre. Cayman students fly high in regional writing contest
(CNS): Two Cayman primary school students have earned top-10 places in a Caribbean-wide writing competition. Diamond White and Nathaniel Harlowe, both 9, competed against 66 students in Cayman, aged seven to 11, to be considered for final honours in the Rotary E-Club of the Caribbean 7020’s fourth annual Butterfly Storybook storytelling contest.
