Kids get on their horses over Easter
(CNS): Over the recent school break, Cayman Riding School hosted their annual Easter horse camp. Tracey Surrey, school owner and riding instructor, noted they run a popular after-school riding programme but also cater to students over holidays, including riders as young as five years old.
“Our camps are highly supervised and our ponies are specially trained so they are safe for young riders even if the children have no prior experience. It’s a lot of fun and children are able to learn at their own pace,” Surrey said.
Whilst the more-experienced riders at Cayman Riding School have been extremely successful when competing both here and overseas, she explained that it is important to encourage children of all capabilities and potential.
She spoke of the benefits of horse riding, pointing out it increases balance, coordination and motor function, muscle tone and flexibility. “The children get a whole body workout without even realising it, and being outside in the fresh air is an extra bonus,” she said.
