Get your glow on for the National Trust
(CNS): The National Trust for the Cayman Islands is partnering with KPMG to host the third annual Glow Run 5K on Saturday, 4 June. In keeping with the theme “Light up the Night for a Brighter Future”, participants are encouraged to dress in bright costumes, face paint and luminous accessories. This popular run, set for 7pm, will start and end at the entrance to Safehaven, with the halfway point turnaround in front of the Holiday Inn.
Event entertainment will include a glow hula hoop performer and fire dancer. There will be glow tunnel at the start and finish lines. Participants will also be able to get their faces painted. Food and drink will be available for sale as will glow items.
Prizes will be given to the top three finishers for the male, female and children’s category as well as for best costume and the team that displays best spirit in the most creative way. All ages and fitness levels are encouraged to participate and get glowed up to run or walk.
Each participant will receive a runner’s pack with goodies from event sponsors. Additional glow items are available at the Trust merchandise store located in Dart Family Park, South Sound.
Registration costs $25 for Trust members and $35 for non-members; children ages three to 12 cost $20. Those who sign up for membership will receive three additional glow items in their runner’s pack.
The KPMG “Glo Hard or Go Home” photo booth and non-toxic glow powder and paint stations will again be features on the route and with a glow bubble station added this year.
“The Trust is pleased to host the third Glow Run in Cayman and thank our sponsors, volunteers and participants who make it possible for us to expand and enrich the important services we provide to the community,” said Christina Pineda, National Trust executive director.
Proceeds from this community event will benefit the National Trust.
