Performers serve up Rundown to shoppers
(CNS): In anticipation of the upcoming premiere of the comedy revue Rundown, cast members will dish out a serving of live theatre at Foster’s Food Fair in The Strand. From 12pm-2pm today (10 May 2016), the performers will dress in full costume and interact with shoppers, encouraging all to purchase a plate of the classic Caymanian dish, rundown, for a chance to win tickets to the opening night on 12 May.
“This is a unique way for us to let people know that the show is coming up. Rundown offers a comical viewpoint of what’s happening in Cayman, so it’s fitting to have the cast bring some humour to people’s day as they enjoy a traditional Caymanian meal,” said Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) marketing and development manager Rita Estevanovich.
The show features a cast of performers mimicking the newsmakers of the day. Skits set for this year’s production include “Foolish People”, “Nosey Mother In-Law”, “Capitalism Gone Mad”, and “New Election Candidate”.
The show will run from 12-29 May, with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday shows beginning at 8pm and 6pm on Sundays. In addition to the 10 shows in Grand Cayman, there will be one performance on Cayman Brac on 4 June.
Tickets, which cost $25 for adults, and $15 for seniors and children under the age of 12, can be reserved by calling 949-5477 or purchased online at the CNCF website
