Students begin financial services education
(CNS Local Life): The fourth annual Cayman Finance Student Education and Work Experience Programme launched recently with an orientation event for all of the programme’s stakeholders. Accepted into the 2018 programme were 60 Caymanian students from schools across the Islands, who will participate in 10 weeks of workshops and one-on-one mentorship sessions.
Plaque unveiling reveals decades-old family link
(CNS Local Life): The unveiling of a plaque last week by the National Trust for the Cayman Islands to mark the donation of land on Cayman Brac, also led to the discovery of a connection between the family who owned the property and Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, minister and MLA for Cayman Brac East.
Nail salon shines with donation to Crisis Centre
(CNS Local Life): A nail salon recently raised $600 for the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC) through a campaign organised in honour of international women’s month. Cindy Oostvogels, owner of Polished, explained that during March customers were given 20% off pedicures for every $10 donated to the Crisis Centre.
