(CNS Local Life): For the fifth year running, Appleby held its annual Charity Day, this time selecting nine non-profit organisations that fall within the child and family welfare, education and animal welfare categories to receive financial assistance. Each organisation had to demonstrate a genuine need for financial assistance, fit into one of the designated categories and clearly identify how the funds will be used.

Bryan Hunter, Cayman managing partner, said of the initiative, “Appleby is proud to continually support our local community and offer sponsorships to new and existing non-profits for the excellent work they do on the ground. This year was particularly noteworthy as we received the most applications to date, highlighting the growing importance of our Charity Day.”

The organisations receiving funds this year are:

  • Brain Tumour Foundation
  • Cayman’s ARK
  • Cayman Heart Fund
  • Cayman Hospice Care
  • Central Caribbean Marine Institute (CCMI)
  • Corporate Cup – Feed Our Future
  • John Gray Flight Club
  • Lighthouse School
  • One Dog at a Time

The Charity Day takes place every March and all non-profits within the specified parameters are encouraged to apply. Details for 2019 will be updated once a date is confirmed.
