Roseanne Myles, Contestant #1

(CNS Local Life): Four Miss World Cayman Islands contestants will be taking part in the inaugural dedicated pageant on Saturday, 29 September set for the Harquail Theatre at 7pm. The official platform for the pageant is “Protection of the Environment”, with “Elements” the theme for this year’s competition, the Miss World Cayman Islands committee explained in a press release.

The winner will represent the Cayman Islands at the Miss World pageant in China on 8 December.

Nateisha Foster, Contestant #2

The contestants are Roseanne Myles (25) from George Town, who is pursuing an associate’s degree in applied computer science; Nateisha Foster (26) George Town, who is studying for a bachelor’s degree in business management; Kelsie Woodman-Bodden (22) George Town, who has a bachelor of science in accounting and also holds a master of science in accounting; and Zorina McCoon (25) Spot Bay, Cayman Brac, who holds a bachelor of science degree in primary education.

The women will compete in a sports segment and participate in a private judges’ interview, which will be held prior to the day of the pageant. On the night of the event, they will compete in top model and evening gown, and take part in a final question-and-answer segment. The director of Miss World Cayman Islands, Pamela Ebanks-Small said of the event, “The committee has been working really hard to make the pageant a success. We have four intelligent and confident women vying for the title and we could not be more proud of their growth thus far.”

She added, “We can’t wait for the community to see the show that we’ve put together for them. It’s definitely going to be unique and it will leave people thinking about the environment and how we can continue to preserve it.”

As part of the preparation for the pageant, the contestants have been taking dance and Toastmasters lessons as well as runway training. They have also taken a Heritage Day tour and completed a series of media appearances.
