Local company lets the dogs out
(CNS Local Life): Staff from Nassau RE spent a recent afternoon walking dogs and bathing puppies at the Cayman Islands Humane Society (CIHS), while the company also donated $2,500 to support the work of the non-profit organisation. Over four hours on Friday, 5 October, the volunteers walked more than 30 dogs and bathed 25 puppies.
Lesley Walker, who is on the CIHS board of directors, thanked the employees and company for their time and donation. “We especially appreciate it when people let us know that the work we are doing for the animals in our community is recognised and valued and that they want to help us to continue by supporting us,” she said in a Nassau RE press release. “The funds are needed to replace outdated equipment in our surgery room so that we can continue to carry out spays and neuters for community dogs.”
Graham Mackay, chief operating officer of Nassau Re, said the company “is committed to Cayman Islands and its community. Cayman Islands Humane Society has done a great job in caring for animals without a voice. We are very delighted to support the great work done by the Humane Society.”
