New tourism ambassador named
(CNS Local Life): Leanna Allen, a student of Clifton Hunter High School, earned the title of Tourism Ambassador at the annual Tourism Speak-Off held Friday, 2 November. Allen will represent the Cayman Islands throughout 2019 at various tourism events locally and at select international forums.
Caymanian filmmaker wins award
(CNS Local Life): Caymanian entertainer and filmmaker Teri Quappe has won an award at the recent Cutting Edge Film Festival of Pompano Beach, Florida. Her short, Interloper, was named the winner in the category of Best Experimental Short Film, in which there were 22 entrants, out of the more than 150 films screened.
Time to trot for Meals on Wheels
(CNS Local Life): Meals on Wheels is holding its third annual Turkey Trot 5K and 10K walk/run fundraiser on Saturday, 24 November, giving the community a chance to support the charity which provides meals five days a week for more than 200 seniors, disabled and the homebound.

Kids encouraged to run for fun
(CNS Local Life): Organisers of the Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon, set for Sunday, 2 December, are again encouraging kids to take part in the largest primary school running event on island, the 2018 Milo Kids Fun Run. The activity is free and attracted more than 300 kids in 2017.
Equestrian jumping series wraps up
