How to buy repossessed vehicles

Where can I get/view the repossessed cars from the bank?

Ask Auntie, CNS Local Life, Caymanian statusAuntie’s answer: I have to admit that this question makes me a bit sad. I cannot fault you for inquiring about repossessed cars but it does conjure images of people who have fallen on hard times, which is especially upsetting as we get nearer to Christmas..

Anyway, here is what I have found out. Cayman National holds repossessed cars at the Elgin Avenue Customer Service Centre parking lot. To get more information and to arrange to view a car, call 949-4655 and ask to speak to someone in the Debt Collection Unit.

CIBC First Caribbean advises those interested in reviewing and bidding on the vehicles to call the bailiff, Josh Lewis, at 917-4363.

Fidelity does not have any repossessed cars, but in the interest of being thorough I have included them as well.

I have reached out to the other retail banks in Cayman but have not yet received a response. I would be happy to include their information if they contact me.

I’ve been hearing a lot about GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) lately, most recently on the ‘60 Minutes’ programme. The list of registered voters in Cayman is public, with voters’ names, residential addresses, and occupations. Doesn’t that fall afoul of GDPR, or the local data protection laws? Auntie’s answer: Actually, a representative of the Office […]
