New board for 100 Woman Who Care
(CNS Local Life): The Cayman Islands chapter of 100+ Women Who Care has named a new board of directors for 2019. The organisation, established in 2015, meets quarterly for one hour to donate funds to a charity voted on at each event, with the money raised by members who give $100 apiece on the night.
The new board comprises Sondra Lovett as chair; Natalie Toole, marketing and PR; Jaslyne Bridges, charity liaison; Jennifer Williams, volunteer coordinator; and Laura Redman, sponsorship.
To date the group has donated more than $247,000 spread among 18 local charities.
“Our mission and hope is to provide for those in greatest need in the Cayman Islands,” said Lovett in a press release. “It’s so heartwarming to hear each charity’s story and know what a difference we can collectively make to our community. Together we can all achieve more and the combined donation of $10,000-plus from each event makes a real impact.”
The first meeting for this year will be Tuesday, 19 March, at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort. The charity with the most votes on the night will take home the collective donations of $100 from each attendee.
The three presenting charities are not disclosed until the night of the event but due to corporate sponsorship, the two organisations that are not selected by the group vote at the next meeting each receive $1,000.
