EY names 2019 scholarship recipient
(CNS Local Life): Justin Ebanks will be pursuing his undergraduate degree in finance at George Mason University in Virginia supported by an EY Cayman scholarship. Ebanks will be eligible for up to US$30,000 annually for a maximum of five years, until he completes the minimum educational requirement to qualify as a certified public accountant.
When advised of his award, Ebanks, who is slated to graduate in 2023, said, “I feel honoured to have been selected for the EY scholarship. I’ve seen EY’s involvement within our community and with education over the years and I am beyond excited to be a part of a firm that believes in my abilities as much as I do.”
The scholarship provides students who have shown academic excellence the opportunity to gain higher education and build careers in the professional services industry, stated a press release. Included in the grant is an eight- to ten-week summer internship to gain practical experience and an offer of full-time employment at EY upon successful completion of the university programme.
“Justin is a charismatic and well-rounded young man who holds a keen interest in the Financial Services sector,” said Mike Mannisto, partner at EY Cayman. “He has excelled academically throughout the school year while being actively involved in athletics and still finding the time to volunteer and invest in our community.
“It’s an honour to award him the 2019 EY Cayman Scholarship. EY is dedicated to empowering high performers like Justin and we look forward to working alongside him as he pursues his educational goals.”
