Dress down to support Meals on Wheels
(CNS Local Life): Cayman Islands Meals has set its annual “Seniors Rock Dress Down Day” for Friday, 27 September. The non-profit is encouraging individuals, businesses, schools and organisations island-wide to participate in the fundraising event, with all money raised helping to support Meals on Wheels in providing more than 48,000 meals each year.
Participants can dress in orange or wear a Meals on Wheels branded item. For every $5 donation, Meals on Wheels is able to provide a senior in need with a hot nutritious meal and soup delivered by one of the organisation’s more than 100 volunteers.
The Meals on Wheels service often enables a senior to remain independent and live in their homes for a longer period of time. To do this, though, the non-profit relies on public and private funding, and its recipient list continues to increase.
