Registration opens for Off The Beaten Track
(CNS Local Life): The eighth annual Off the Beaten Track 50K ultra-marathon and relay, one of the most challenging athletic events on the Cayman Islands’ sporting calendar, will be taking place Sunday, 26 February. Race founder Kenneth Krys is encouraging teams to sign up for the race, which he said promotes the importance of corporate bonding through group activities that both challenge the individual member and encourage a sense of teamwork.
“This race represents a unique challenge of 50K ultra-marathon or relay through tropical bush, sandy beaches and the back roads of Grand Cayman,” Krys, of KYrS Global, said. “The race is broken down into six legs of 8K which allows relay teams to take part, becoming a lot more manageable and enjoyable for the average runner.
“With many companies bringing in new recruits for the New Year, this race presents the perfect opportunity for everyone to get to know each other better and build a sense of community within the office through training together and completing the race.”
This year, proceeds from Off the Beaten Track will go towards supporting the efforts of the non-profit YMCA Cayman Islands, which is committed to partnering with men, women and children to strengthen the local Cayman community.
Race director Anna Keating said they are proud to be able to be able to support such an amazing local charity. “Off the Beaten Track’s mission (is) to help support the continued growth of our local community and we are excited to have the YMCA on board as this year’s beneficiary,” she said.
Registration, at US$300 for a relay team and US$100 for individuals, is open at this link
