Community comes out to boost DG’s charity event
(CNS): Walkers and runners turned out in force Sunday, 24 April, for the 2016 Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge, raising money to help Cayman Heart Fund buy a new ambulance. The early-morning charity challenge attracted more than 1,000 registered participants and a large crowd of cheering well-wishers.
Appleby’s annual giving day supports five charities
(CNS): Following its annual Charity Day programme on 15 March, Appleby Cayman has awarded donations to the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, The Bridge Foundation, Cayman Islands Red Cross, NCVO and Lighthouse School. Brackers support DG’s 5K Challenge
(CNS): The Cayman Brac community turned out in force on Sunday, 17 April, to raise money for the 2016 Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge. Walkers and runners converged on Cayman Brac Museum in the early morning for the route which took the 168 participants to the Catboat Plaza and back.
Former Cayman reporter joins ambulance appeal
(CNS): Former Cayman 27 reporter Kevin Watler, who recently recovered from open-heart surgery, is urging everyone to support efforts to buy a new ambulance for the Cayman Islands. Watler is a member of Cayman Heart Fund, which is running the appeal and is the chosen charity of the 2016 Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge.
Time to sign up for the DG’s 5K Challenge
(CNS): Registration for this year’s Deputy Governor’s 5K Challenge is set to open next week. In Grand Cayman, participants can sign up at the Government Administration Building (GAB) on 7, 8, 14 and 15 April from 10am to 3pm as well as 21 and 22 April from 9am to 4 pm.
Artwork added to permanent National Gallery collection
