Golden Apples honour teachers
(CNS Local Life): A dozen influential teachers were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the Cayman Islands’ education system at the 2018 Golden Apple Awards held Saturday, 26 May. Almost 200 people attended the ceremony, including business and community leaders, and government representatives, to support teachers from local public and private schools.

Students begin financial services education
(CNS Local Life): The fourth annual Cayman Finance Student Education and Work Experience Programme launched recently with an orientation event for all of the programme’s stakeholders. Accepted into the 2018 programme were 60 Caymanian students from schools across the Islands, who will participate in 10 weeks of workshops and one-on-one mentorship sessions.
Students score high at maths challenge
(CNS Local Life): More than 100 of Cayman’s secondary school students demonstrated their mathematical ability at the 2018 Minds Inspired Mathematics Challenge held 15 and 16 March. The two-day event, now in its sixth year, tests students’ individual knowledge as well as their ability to collaborate in groups to solve problems.
