Swimmers will be competing for a place in CARIFTA games

(CNS): The Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association (CIASA) is hosting the Cayman Islands National Swim Championships, from today (11 February)  through 14 February at the Camana Bay Sports Complex. This four-day swim meet will provide the country’s top swimmers with an opportunity to post qualifying times for the CARIFTA games, which will be held in Martinique at the end of March.

Younger swimmers will also have the chance to experience the competition, which will comprise morning preliminaries and evening finals.

CIASA president Michael Lockwood said of the event: “It is an exciting time for CIASA to see our swimmers participate and compete in the Nationals. The swimmers have been training hard for many months and it is wonderful to witness all of their hard work coming to fruition. I would encourage everyone to come out and to support our swimmers.”

The preliminary sessions will start at 8:15am on Thursday and Friday, and at 8:30am on Saturday and Sunday, with finals starting at 4:45pm.

Full results will be posted on the CIASA website
