Kickoff nears for U-14 football tournament
(CNS): As the Cayman Islands gears up for the Cayman Airways U14 Invitational Youth Cup, airline president and CEO Fabian Whorms recently spoke to some of the local U-14 players at the sponsor’s headquarters. Paul Byles of tournament organiser Academy Football Club joined the players in thanking Cayman Airways for helping make the tournament possible by flying in all of the visiting teams.
“Cayman Airways is delighted to be title sponsor for this tournament again this year, and we’re very excited about it because the tournament promises to be a tense week of competition for all those involved, which is great experience for the players, and we wish them all the very best of luck,” Whorms said.
Noting that this is the third year that the Youth Cup, set for 20-25 June, has been held in Cayman, Byles said the tournament promises to be the toughest one to date. “Academy Sports Club is focused on being the best that we possibly can for this tournament,” Byles said.
“We have some stiff competition in front of us, the team is training hard and we are looking forward to a great event.”
