Young Musician of the Year, flautist Daniela Granados, will be performing during the Arts Festival

(CNS Local Life): This autumn the Cayman Arts Festival (CAF) is showcasing world-class harpist Catrin Finch and many local artists including flautists Elizabeth Malkin and Daniela Granados (the winner of the 2016 Butterfield Musician of the year), clarinetist Deidra Campbell, pianists Glen Inanga and Allie Cortens, soprano Georgina Gatto and tenor Arek Nicholson. The events, with the first one set for 13 October, will also feature the Cayman National Choir and Cayman National Orchestra directed by Sue Horrocks.

“This is the first time that CAF has organised so many events in a short period of time, outside of February, our regular festival period,” said Marius Gaina, CAF executive director.

“For various reasons, CAF was not able to bring to Cayman all of the performers that we had in mind in February, however we don’t want to miss any opportunity for a first class show when it presents itself. We just want to provide our supporters with more entertainment throughout the year and not only for a few weeks.”

Over the years CAF has established a tradition of all performers holding educational and cultural workshops for Cayman’s students. For the 2016 autumn season, Finch will present a free masterclass for students from both public and private schools.

Tickets for all events are available online at the Cayman Arts Festival website. For more information, email CAF or call 922-5550
