Cayman scores with FA Cup visit
(CNS Local Life): The FA Cup is coming to Cayman this month, as part of a Caribbean tour of the famous football trophy, which was won by Manchester United last year. The cup will be here from 21-24 January, ending a tour that will include stops in Trinidad and Barbados, with Man U ambassador Dwight Yorke, who lifted the trophy for his club in 1999, a special guest at the Cayman leg.
The tour was made possible through a partnership between telecoms provider Flow and Man U.
During his time in Cayman, Yorke will talk about the soon-to-be-launched joint skills-development initiative with Flow aimed at young footballers.
Garfield Sinclair, president of Flow Caribbean, said of the tour, “This is all for our customers who are lovers of the beautiful game,” adding that the relationship with Man U offers football fans an “opportunity to get up close to the FA Cup, which for some, is a once-in-a-lifetime event”.
Fans will be able to take photos and get a chance to participate in activities and win prizes from Flow and the football club.
Can we please have more detailed scheduling information on this visit? Are there public events for signing or visiting? Opportunities for youth footballers to participate?
We are known as Manchester United or United or Man United or the Reds. Please don’t refer to my club as Man U. This term is for Americans who also call the game Saccer and refer to my islands as the Caymens.
Don’t make your self sound silly. GGMU!!!
