National Gallery named a top Caribbean museum
(CNS Local Life): The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI) has been recognised as number five on the list of “Caribbean’s Best Museums You Should Visit” compiled by News Americas Now, a news, travel and lifestyle publication that covers the Caribbean and Latin America and its diasporas. The National Museum of Fine Arts in Cuba was ranked number one followed by the Museo de Arte de Ponce in Puerto Rico, the Terramar Museum in Bonaire, the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art and NGCI.
“We are delighted to receive this positive regional recognition,” said NGCI director Natalie Urquhart, in a press release. “Our team have worked hard to create a facility and collection that our country can be proud of. Hopefully this news will now will drive more and more visitors to the Cayman Islands and to the gallery to experience our unique cultural environment and story.”
The US-based News Americas Now has content syndicated across 21 news sites including on the Caribbean Today in Florida and Irie Jam radio in New York City.
NGCI is also profiled in the latest addition of the Caribbean lifestyle magazine Jamaque Paradis.
