Dates set for National Trust fundraisers
(CNS Local Life): The National Trust for the Cayman Islands has announced the 2019 dates for its two major fundraising events – Hatitude, set for Sunday, 27 January and the Glow Run, scheduled for Saturday, 30 March. Hatitude, a family brunch, will take place at Grand Old House under the theme “Birds of the Caribbean”.
Nasaria Budal, National Trust marketing manager, said in a Trust press release, “Hatitude is a wonderful community event that brings all together in support of a good cause. We’re excited to see how the attendees will incorporate our bird theme into their hat designs this year.”
The Glow Run 5K will take place on the eve of Earth Month in April and is expected to attract close to 800 walkers and runners who will race through the streets sporting glow-in-the-dark wear and accessories, the press release stated.
The Trust is also working to reduce the number of plastic products used throughout the upcoming run and future events. “We are looking into sourcing products that are made from recycled materials or are recyclable in some way,” Budal said.
