Law firm kicks in support for Gaelic football
(CNS Local Life): The Cayman Islands Gaelic Football Club has received sponsorship for its 2019 men’s and women’s leagues which bring together nearly 300 people of different nationalities to participate in matches between January and June. Law firm Harneys’ support will enable the six men’s teams and four women’s teams to play in 13 days of matches including a tournament on St Patrick’s Day and a Final’s Day.
The club was founded in 1999 and has become one of the most popular sporting and social clubs in the Cayman Islands over the past 20 years, stated a press release from Harneys. The club strives to provide members the opportunity to learn the Irish sport in a safe and family-friendly environment.
Shane Martin, club chairman, said of the law firm’s support: “We are grateful for Harneys sponsorship this year and look forward to working together on our 2019 league.”
Conal Keane, senior associate at Harneys, added, “I am thrilled that we are able to help support this growing sport in the Cayman Islands. The Gaelic Football Club has done a tremendous job at growing interest and membership year on year and we hope to continue to be involved in this Irish sport which is great fun for the community.”
