Visitors still looking to play pickleball
Has any progress been made since the prior comments in June regarding pickleball courts with public access? Or, is there any sort of pickleball club in Grand Cayman yet? Yes, there are many other great things to do in GC. But maybe an open mind to new things might be beneficial also. How do we make contact with other pickleball players in GC?
Auntie’s answer: Since the previous column you mentioned was published (see In search of a pickleball game in Cayman) I have received a few other questions on pickleball. But to date I remain unable to report on the existence of a public court. The Department of Sports still does not know of any places to play pickleball and neither does the Cayman Islands Tennis Club.
Commenters on that earlier column, however, point to a few hotels and condos that can accommodate pickleball on their tennis courts.
In addition, anyone who knows of a place to play or wants to get a pickleball group together can email me. Please put “pickleball” in the subject and I will connect you with other interested players.
