Deputy Governor Franz Manderson presents Employee of the Month certificate to Joanne Cox

(CNS Local Life): Joanne Cox, personal assistant to Justice Ingrid Mangatal of the Grand Court, has been selected Employee of the Month for March by Deputy Governor Franz Manderson for “delivering an outstanding customer service experience”. Manderson made the presentation at Kirk House Monday, 29 April, to Cox, who has been working at Judicial Administration since March 2016.

In making the presentation the Deputy Governor said in a press release, “Ms Cox is always willing to assist colleagues without being asked. An example of this is when the Registrar of the Court of Appeal required assistance with several administrative duties during a clean-up exercise and due to increased work in the Court of Appeal. Ms Cox jumped in and assisted the Registrar with her work over an extended period (over many, many months) and she did this without a request for consideration of a duty allowance.”

Every year, the judiciary delivers some 200 judgments and Cox, in addition to her role as a personal assistant, receives, coordinates and distributes the judgments for publication on the Judicial Administration website. Additionally, on her own initiative, she developed a written guidance document for new personal assistants to judges as a result of her experiences, and has trained many new PAs, the press release said.

Suzanne Bothwell, Judicial Administration’s Court Administrator and Chief Officer, said it was a “pleasure” to work with Cox. “Her professionalism and diligence is greatly appreciated, as it gives me, her judge and the Hon. Chief Justice confidence that she is capable of performing her duties at a high standard,” Bothwell said. “In addition, she adds value to the organisation by being a real team player, being willing to lend her talents broadly across the organisation, to learn new things and also develop others.”

Justly deserved. As a practicing attorney, she is a pleasure to deal with and nothing is too much trouble – unlike some others I could mention!!
