Director confirmed for Dept of Community Rehabilitation
(CNS Local Life): Lisa Malice, who has been acting director of the Department of Community Rehabilitation (DCR) since September 2017, has been confirmed as the head of the unit. DCR’s mission is to provide community-based supervision and rehabilitative services to adult offenders, primarily upon the instruction of the courts and the Conditional Release Board.
Marathon helps participants give back to the community
(CNS Local Life): Participants in last year’s Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon raised more than US$9,000 online for several local charities, and organisers are hoping that more people will use the event, scheduled for Sunday, 8 December this year, to bring awareness and support to the many non-profit and charitable organisations in the community.

First group completes women’s tech programme
(CNS Local Life): The first 33 students to complete the Women Code Cayman introductory computer-programming course were celebrated at an event Wednesday, 12 June. The free 12-week-long programme, developed to help close the technology sector’s gender gap, offers women a supportive network and platform to learn how to code.

Swim team named for CCCAN championships
