Director confirmed for Dept of Community Rehabilitation
(CNS Local Life): Lisa Malice, who has been acting director of the Department of Community Rehabilitation (DCR) since September 2017, has been confirmed as the head of the unit. DCR’s mission is to provide community-based supervision and rehabilitative services to adult offenders, primarily upon the instruction of the courts and the Conditional Release Board.

Marathon helps participants give back to the community

Swim team named for CCCAN championships
(CNS Local Life): Cayman is sending 11 swimmers to compete in the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Federation (CCCAN) championships in Barbados, taking place from 28 June to 2 July. The competition is an age-group swimming championship with 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18 and over categories.
Improved therapy to help reduce hair loss for chemo patients
(CNS Local Life): The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) chemotherapy unit has upgraded its cold cap therapy for patients hoping to prevent or reduce the loss of their hair as a result of chemotherapy. The scalp cooling system will improve efficiency of the treatment and provide a more comfortable experience for users.
